Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) is a form of saturated fatty acid that is easily digested and effectively burned by the body for energy.
MCT is known to promote weight loss as it is effectively burned by the body for energy which in turn reduces the storage of body fat. It also helps one feel full therefore reducing total calorie intake.
MCT oil is commonly extracted from coconut oil, as more than 50% of the fat in coconut oil are MCTs. Other common food sources include palm oil and dairy products.
