Propolis
Propolis is a resin-like substance made by bees to build and 'glue' their hives.
For centuries, it has been used as traditional remedy due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Commonly used to promote recovery from cold sores, ulcers and minor burns. It is also suggested that propolis helps improve immunity by stimulating 'phagocytosis', a process whereby white blood cells destroy bacteria.
Propolis products are available in the forms of oral supplement (e.g. tablet, capsule, powder), topical products (e.g. ointment, cream, lotion) and other personal care products (e.g. toothpaste, mouthwash, throat spray).
