Green Barley
Latin Name: Hordeum Vulgare L
Other Name: Barley Grass
Green barley refers to the young leaves of the plant before it produces grain, and before the stem developed.
It is a nutrient-dense superfood, and is rich in chlorophyll, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, such as B-vits, Vit C, Vit E, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron. Green barley juice is base-forming (alkalising) which helps balance the high acid-forming modern diet consisting of too much meat and refined starch.
Its richness in naturally-occurring antioxidants and chlorophyll also makes it beneficial for immune health, healthy blood maintenance, wound healing and management of inflammatory symptoms related to conditions like joint degeneration and pimples. Green barley grass, like many other functional green foods, naturally detoxifies and deodorises.
Individual whose diet are lacking in greens, rich in protein or active in sports, tends to have acidic body pH. And very often, it's signs/symptoms are easily dismissed, such as fatigue, headache and lack of appetite.
