Calcium Lactate
Type: Mineral
Calcium Lactate aid restful sleep by promoting the production tryptophan, an amino acid which allows the body to produce melatonin. This helps to induce and maintain sleep without interruptions.
Calcium Lactate can also be used to treat people with low calcium levels or as a treatment for bone-loss conditions such as osteoporosis or rickets. Having the right amount of calcium is important for strong and healthy bones. When calcium levels in the body are low, your body will start to take calcium from your bones, reducing your bone density and increasing your risk of fracture.
Calcium Lactate is often added into food to enhance their calcium content, thicken, flavour, firm or stabilize food. There are a number of packaged foods that contain calcium lactate, including jams, beer, and cooking fats to prolong their expiry. Additionally, it can be added to fresh foods such as cheese, pasta, and precut fruits.
