Chuanxiong is a type of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that can promote healthy blood circulation and improve "qi" flow, making it one of the most effective herbs for all blood & "qi" stasis concerns, such as irregular menses, menstrual cramp, amenorrhea etc.
In TCM theory, chuanxiong can also help to relieve pain and dispel wind, hence it is widely used for all types of headaches, ranging from wind-cold ones (headache accompanied with chills, binding sensation over the head) to wind-heat ones (headache accompanied with fever, flushed face, red eyes, and sore throat).
With its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-spasmatic and sedative effects, chuanxiong can be given to those with inflammation caused by injuries, making it a powerful TCM herb.
